Franchi follows up on last year’s Momentum Varmint Elite rifle with two new caliber offerings. For 2022, varmint and predator hunters, along with big game hunters anticipating medium- to long-range shots, should consider the new Momentum Varmint Elite rifles now in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win.
Franchi engineers developed the Momentum Varmint Elite to deliver pinpoint accuracy when taking long shots at targets and game animals. The Momentum Varmint Elite starts with a 24-inch, heavy-contour fluted barrel that free-floats ahead of the precision-machined action mated to the robust DEPENDA Bolt. A three-lug bolt engagement system with a 60-degree throw provides ample room for high-powered optics and fast cycling when engaging multiple targets. Contributing to the DEPENDA Bolt’s smooth operation is its spiral-fluted profile and hardened chrome finish. Adding to the sub-MOA accuracy is the RELIA Trigger. This is an adjustable, single-stage trigger that shooters can customize to break cleanly between 2 and 4 lbs.
The Momentum Varmint Elite’s stock is equally suited to long-distance action thanks to its rigid construction and user-customizable features. The rifle comes with a medium-size removable comb that can be switched for higher or lower comb options (sold separately), allowing the shooter to achieve the perfect cheek weld and eye alignment. A removable and more vertically oriented checkered polymer grip is designed for a positive hold in all shooting conditions. Additional grips will be sold separately allowing shooters to customize to their individual preferences.
Franchi’s TSA recoil pad system is also part of the Momentum Varmint Elite package. Not only does the TSA pad reduce felt recoil by up to 50 percent, but small and large pads can also be purchased separately to adjust the length of pull.
The stock’s forend has a beavertail profile to optimize support on day packs, rocks, or other field rests to facilitate run-and-gun shot opportunities. Integrated, recessed QD sling and bipod mounting points maintain a clean profile for prone shots or when using a bipod.
Like all Franchi rifles, the new Momentum Varmint Elites in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester are built with the same commitment to reliable performance, durability, and exceeding the expectations of seasoned hunters. To back this up, they come with a 1-MOA.
